The Cheshire Athletics Championships took place at Stanney Oaks, Ellesmere Port over the weekend of 10/11th May with Warrington Athletic Club picking up a stack of medals with some of the winners setting new championship best performances.
        On the first day Danny Cliffe(Junior men's 3000 metres) and new club member Harry Ellis(under 17 1500 metres)with new championship best perrformances led the list of club winners who were double winner Alex Wort(u/15 triple jump and 80 metres hurdles),Ryan O'Neill(u/15 Javelin),Luke Miller-Briggs(Jun 200 metres),Tom Jervis(u/17 3000 metres),Liam Burthem(u/13 800 metres),Peter Morgan(Jun 400 metres),Matt Kindon(Senior 400 metres)and Sam Dykes(u/15 800 metres) who led home the largest entry from the club in a single event with 5 runners making the final from 8 entries in the heats with Jack Gleave(3rd),Luke Johnston(4th),Ryan O'Neill(5th) and Steven Darbyshire(7th).In the Women's events Jess Deakin was the only winner taking the u/15 girls Hammer title.

 On the second day of the championships the club collected another 11 titles.In the women's events Amy Talbot took the Junior 3000 metres and Claire Irons the 800 metres.In the men's events at under 15 James Sutton collected a treble in the100 metres,Long Jump and Discus,Alex Wort added the Shot to his double from Saturday and Jack Gleave took the 400 metres.In the Junior events Luke Miller-Briggs added the 100 metres to his 200 metres title and Lawrence Walker took the 2000 metres Steeplechase in a new Championship best performance which was also the fastest time in the event so far this season.Inn the under 13 boys Liam Burthem finished the day off by adding the 1500 metres to his 800 metres title.
     To top off the day new recruit Harry Ellis was voted the Track Athlete of the Championship for his performance in the under 17 1500 metres where he set a new Championship Best Performance.
