Fixture List 
The English Schools Athletic Championships took place at Gateshead
Stadium on Friday/Saturday 7th/8th July with 10 athletes from Warrington
taking part.

In the girls events top performance came from Bethany Hicken who is a
2nd claim member of Warrington Athletic Cluband now runs for City of
Stoke. Bethany was 3rd in her heat of the 200metres on Friday in the Junior
Girls with a time of 25.84 seconds. She came back on Saturday to take 5th
place in the final in a time of 25.85 seconds.

Also in the Junior girls age group Jade Llewellyn of Warrington Athletic
Club ran a time of 4 minutes 45.41 seconds for 4th in her heat of the 1500
metres on Friday and returned on Saturday to place 11th in the final in 4
minutes 48.91 seconds.

In the intermediate age group Lucy Gemmell was 8th in her heat in the
800 metres in a time of 2 minutes 29.38 seconds. Megan Tyler in the High Jump finished in 7th place on count back jumping a height of 1.62 metres which was the same as that cleared by the girls finishing in 4th to 6th places.

In the Intermediate Boys events Lawrence Walker produced the best
performance from the Warrington Athletic Club athletes when he finished in
7th place in the 1500 metres steeplechase running a time of 4 minutes 34.40 seconds.

The other Warrington Athletic Club athletes running were Luke
Miller-Briggs and Peter Morgan in the Intermediate 100 metres finishing in
5th and 6th in their respective heats in times of 11.55 and 11.49
seconds. Stephen Broadhurst in the 1500 metres was 9th in his heat in 4
minutes 15.16 seconds while Mat Jackson was 20th in the 3000 metres in 9
minutes 11.92 seconds. Both of these were in the Intermediate age group.
In the Junior Boys age group Michael Jukes who is not a member of an
athletic club finished in 10th place in the Triple Jump clearing 11.86
metres.
