On Saturday 18th March the North West Sportshall Finals took place at Robin Park Wigan. Warrington Athletic Club were represented in 5 of the 6 finals and collected two team titles.  In the under 11 age groups although there were no outstanding individuals in the Girls the team all performed well to eventually finish in 3rd place. With Jordan Barlow winning the Standing Long Jump and 2nd in the Standing Triple Jump behind teammate Matthew Pennington who also moved the team from 4th to 1st on the last leg of the 6 lap relay the Boys team ran out as North West Champions.  The action moved to the afternoon where the under 13 girls were the stars of the show. They became North West Champions with Sarah Lewis winning the Standing Long Jump,Triple Jump and finishing 2nd in the 2 lap race. Sarah was backed up by Sophie Kerr and Abbie Nicholson taking 1st and 2nd in the Speed Bounce,Jessica Deakin 3rd in the Triple Jump and Rachel Jefferson 3rd in the Vertical Jump.  The under 13 boys finished in 5th place in their event with Adam Nicholls being top performer finishing 2nd in the Vertical Jump.  In the under 15 boys Luke Miller-Briggs was our only competitor finishing 2nd in the 2 lap race.  Among the other clubs taking part were Sale Harriers Manchester,Liverpool Harriers,St Helens Sutton AC,West Cheshire AC and Wirral AC. 

Five of the club's under 17 athletes took part in the City of Manchester open indoor meeting at Sport City on Sunday 19th March. In the girls events Amy Talbot finished 3rd in her heat of the 600 metres in a time of 1 minute 46. 07 seconds while Jenny Beeton was 5th in her heat in 2 minutes 02 seconds. In the 60 metres Hayley Darbyshire won her heat in 8. 32 seconds and finished 3rd in her 200 metres. Megan Tyler cleared a height of 1.50 metres in the High Jump.  Luke Miller-Briggs was the only boy from the club finishing 2nd in both the 60 metres in 7.44 seconds and 200 metres.
