The George Edwards Memorial Meeting was staged by Warrington Athletic Club on Monday 29th May at Victoria Park and although the weather was terrible there were still some very good performances. It was the turn of the youngest club athletes to shine and the star of the show was 9 year old Liam Burthem who recorded a treble victory in the under 11 age group winning the 75,150 and 600 metres all in personal best times.

Among other winners were Abigail Hickey(under9 girls 75&150
metres), Rebecca Harrison-Pitt (u/11 girls 75&150 metres), Jack Payne (u/9 boys 75&150 metres) and Ben Simpson (u/17 boys 100&200 metres) who all achieved double victories. Single victories were achieved by Luke Johnston (u/13 boys
1500 metres), Tony Archdeacon (senior 400 metres hurdles), Amy Talbot (u/17 girls 800 metres) Vicky Hamilton (u/13 girls discus), Emma Miller-Briggs (u/17 girls shot) and Catherine Healy (u/9 girls cricket ball).
