The 22nd World Mountain Running Championships took place near Bursa Turkey on Sunday 10th September with two Warrington Athletic Club athletes taking part. Normally competing in the same team Heather Timmins and Alison Patrick were this time in opposition with Heather running for England and Alison for Scotland. Racing in the Junior Ladies race on Mount Olimpos at Uludag starting at 1230 metres and finishing at 1625 metres above sea level Heather finished in 12th place in 24 minutes 20 seconds while Alison who is visually impaired finished in 34th place in 27 minutes 09 seconds. In the team event the English team of Heather and Emma Clayton who was 11th 2 seconds in front of Heather finished in 5th place while the Scottish team finished 8th with Alison being a non counter. | (No pictures of the event) |
